SCO Handbook Animation Series
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) enlisted AIM to develop a series of animated training videos. The purpose of this task was to meet objectives of stakeholders and to coincide with crucial tasks from the School Certifying Officials Handbook used by school officials tasked with verifying student enrollment information to the VA in order for benefit payments to be disbursed. Success of this project counted on
- Strategic Consultation
- Script Writing and Storyboarding
- Character World Development
- Audio Mastering (Pro Tools)
- 2D & 3D Animation (Adobe After Affects & Motion)
In order for the Post-9/11 GI Bill to efficiently serve Veterans, educational institutions are required to staff School Certifying Officials (SCO). In October 2010 new requirements for SCOs were set up in the SCO Handbook, and an initiative to educate SCOs on processing updated benefits began.
The SCO Handbook is very lengthy. In order to equip the SCOs efficiently, VA acknowledged that an additional tool would be helpful to make the information easily accessible, simple, and clearly understood for all SCOs.
After consulting with the VA, the AIM Team developed an animated series based on a super hero named Super SCO. Through these creative animated training videos, Super SCO will inspire and train the SCOs to help them better help Veterans. This series is professionally produced, original and captivating.
The SCO animation videos AIM produced clearly met the challenges of the project. As a result, the animations have achieved
- Explaining key procedures
- Empowering and encouraging SCOs
- Reiterating the goals of the stakeholders
- Creating a fun learning experience
This project was a win-win for all involved.
